What we do
We don't just sell stone. We cut it.
A lot of places will sell you a countertop and hand the job to whoever is available that week. We're a fabrication shop. The slab you pick in our showroom is cut on our CNC and waterjet a few hundred feet away, and the crew that sets it in your kitchen works here.
That's the whole reason the seams land where they should and the veining runs the way you expected.

The process
Five steps, and you know what each one costs
Talk it through
Come by the showroom or call us. We'll walk you through the slabs we have on the floor, talk about how you actually use the room, and give you a realistic idea of cost before anyone measures anything.
Digital laser template
Once your cabinets are set, a technician comes out and templates the space with a laser. It captures curves, columns and out-of-square walls that a stick template would only approximate — and it goes straight to the shop as a digital file.
Cut and fabricate
Your slab is cut on our CNC and waterjet, here in Valdosta. We lay out the cut against the actual veining so seams fall where they're least visible, and so the pattern lands where you'll be looking.
Shape and polish the edge
The profile is cut with diamond wheels, then finished by hand. Hand-polishing is the step that separates a countertop that looks fabricated from one that looks made.
Install and walk it with you
Our own crew sets it — not a subcontractor. We level, seam, seal, and then walk the finished job with you before we pack up.

The family
Stone has been the family trade for three generations
Giovanni and Teresa Sacco opened Set In Stone in Valdosta in 2008. They're the third generation of their family to work stone, and the Italian side of that lineage still shows up in how the shop runs — in the fussiness about a polished edge, mostly.
It's a small enough operation that if something goes wrong, you'll be talking to someone whose name is on the door.
The showroom
Photographs never do stone justice
Screens flatten stone. Depth, movement, the way a leathered finish catches light from the side — none of it survives a photograph. If you're deciding between two materials, thirty minutes on our showroom floor will settle it faster than a week of browsing.
